Healing with Magnetic Rings
Healing with Magnetic Rings

Magnetic rings are a type of jewelry sold for the purpose of healing and relieving pain rather than for the purpose of fashion. Magnets are marketed to treat a variety of different ailments such as arthritis and fibromyalgia. Though magnetic jewelry for healing comes in many forms such as bracelets, necklaces and earrings, rings are one of the most popular.

Step 2

Wear your magnetic ring daily always on the hand that is closest to your pain. According to NCAM, one theory for how magnetic rings can help to heal the body is that since the blood contains iron, it may act as a conductor for magnetic energy, so a magnetic ring would increase the blood flow, bringing healing oxygen and vital nutrients. Therefore, you should wear your ring on the side of the body with the most pain and the most need for healing so that the blood flow will be increased to that area.

Step 3

Be patient yet persistent in wearing your magnetic ring. One study published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation tested the use of magnetic therapy in treating people with pain from neuropathy. This study found that participants had statistically significant reductions in the amount of burning, numbness, tingling and pain after three to four months of using magnets. NCAM states that pregnant women should not wear magnetic rings because the potential for harm to the fetus is unknown. People who need to use medical devices like pacemakers, insulin pumps or defibrillators also should not wear magnetic rings because the magnets may alter the settings of these machines. People who use very sensitive medications or use medications on their skin should be careful about using magnetic rings, as they could cause redness of the skin or a rash.
